How will YOU make 2019 different?
First of all, Drumline Blueprint would like to wish you a very happy new year and we hope you reach all of your goals for this upcoming year!
You have goals right?
If you do, that’s great! If not, you should definitely try to create some so that you have a milestone you can reach for.
Having a goal is essential to our growth so don’t take this part of the process lightly.
The question is, how will you make this year BETTER (not just different) than last year?
Is it simply accomplishing more goals?
That could be a good indication that you have improved year over year.
But what if you find yourself failing a lot?
If that’s the case, perhaps you could explore a different course of action when pursuing success in drumming.
So with that being said, let’s list a few ways we can easily make this year better than last year when it comes to your drumming skills:
1.) Set small achievable goals rather than big goals that may seem daunting. So perhaps instead of saying my goal is to make an independent indoor line for next year, you could have a goal of practicing 5 days a week and getting the exercises packet within 6 months.
2.) Seek out guidance from your current instructors and different sources of instruction like peers and teachers on the internet. Scour Reddit, post on Facebook drumline groups and get involved in the greater percussion community to assist in your progress.
3.) When you achieve a small goal, take some time to celebrate and acknowledge your accomplishment and then plan on achieving the next goal. In this case, momentum can be very important, so use the momentum you have created in achieving past goals to your advantage.
Do you have any other suggestion in making this year the best year ever for YOU?!
